Privacy policy

This policy describes how FixerCalc (https://fixercalc.com) handles information when you use the calculators and other pages on this site. You can use the tools without creating an account. There is no contact form, comment system, or newsletter signup. We do not ask for your name, home address, or payment card on these pages.

Questions: contact@fixercalc.com or the contact page.

Information stored in your browser

The optional US/metric toggle may be saved in localStorage on your device so the preference persists. A cookie-notice dismissal may also be saved locally so the banner does not reappear on every visit. Share links put calculator inputs in the URL query string on your machine; we do not receive those numbers unless you send someone the link, or your browser or an extension transmits the full URL.

Logs and hosting

This site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare and our application logs may process standard request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, and approximate location derived from IP, for security, abuse prevention, and operations. We do not sell that information.

Google Analytics

FixerCalc uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location, device type, and referrer. Google may set cookies or use similar identifiers on your browser. Calculator inputs you type are not sent as Analytics events. Google's processing of this data is described at business.safety.google/privacy and policies.google.com/privacy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Google ads and cookies

FixerCalc may display Google ads on some pages so the calculators can stay free. Third-party advertising companies, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies on your browser. Those cookies can help show ads based on previous visits to this site or to other sites.

You can review or turn off personalized Google ads in Google Ads Settings. If other advertising companies also serve ads here, you can use industry opt-out tools at www.aboutads.info.

Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at business.safety.google/privacy, how it uses cookies in advertising at policies.google.com/technologies/ads, and its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

When we control the label, ads are marked “Advertisement.” Calculator results are not hidden behind an ad click, and we do not ask you to click ads.

Cookie notice

A short notice about analytics and ads may appear at the bottom of the page. Dismissing it stores a flag in localStorage so the notice does not return on every visit. That notice is not a consent management platform, and it is not a substitute for the opt-out links in this policy.

Retailer links (affiliates)

Some calculator pages include search links to Home Depot, Lowe's, or Amazon for the materials counted on that page. If we participate in a retailer affiliate or creator program, a purchase through those links may pay FixerCalc a commission. Retailers may set their own cookies when you visit their sites. Details are on the affiliate disclosure.

California and similar laws

We do not sell your personal information for money. Google advertising cookies may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under some US state privacy laws because they help serve or measure ads. You can opt out of personalized Google ads using Ads Settings, linked above. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland

This site is written for US homeowners and is available worldwide. We do not operate a regional consent management platform. If you are in a region that restricts advertising cookies, use Google Ads Settings and the Analytics opt-out tools linked in this policy.

Children

The site is intended for adults planning home projects. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not direct the site at children.

Changes

If we change how we collect or use information, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. The current version is the one that applies.
